Hot bending of plastic

Designing with heat

By heating plastic material and shaping it to the desired angle, plastic hot bending enables precise and durable solutions. Whether it is functional details in a machine or designed elements in a retail environment, the technology provides a combination of flexibility and stability that few other methods can match. We work with plastic bending and offer tailor-made solutions tailored to our customers' needs.

How bending works

The process begins by heating the plastic material to a temperature where it becomes soft enough to bend without cracking. The heating can be done by spot or line heating using specialized bending machines or ovens. Once the material has reached the correct temperature, it is bent over a mold or template to the desired angle and held in place until it has cooled and solidified in its new shape.

Materials for hot bending

Plastic hot bending is often used for thermoplastic materials such as acrylic (PLEXIGLAS®) and polycarbonate (PC). These materials become malleable when heated and retain their new shape after cooling, making them ideal for applications that require durable and precise bends.

Advantages of bending plastic

Hot bending of plastic reduces the need for joining, resulting in stronger and more durable plastic parts. The method enables flexible design and customized solutions while being cost-effective and delivering precise results without post-processing.

To avoid deformation or damage, it is important to control the heating temperature and the bending process carefully. We offer efficient and precision-safe hot bending of plastic tailored to your needs.
